Dr. Myron Wentz is an internationally recognized microbiologist, immunologist, and pioneer in the development of human cell-culture technology and infectious disease diagnoses. Dr. Wentz created Gull Laboratories in 1974 where he developed many of the world’s first FDA approved laboratory assays for viral diseases. He broadened his focus from infectious diseases to chronic degenerative diseases by establishing USANA Health Sciences in 1992 to develop advanced nutritional products. Dr. Wentz founded Sanoviv Medical Institute in 2000 – a model holistic and integrative medical center and hospital – located in Baja California.

Early Life

Myron Wentz was drawn to both science and music from an early age, and he was an accomplished trumpet player. He even considered pursuing music professionally.

At the age of 17, Myron Wentz lost his father to heart disease, and throughout his life many of his family members suffered from degenerative diseases. These traumatic events, combined with his passion for the life sciences, helped shape his purpose in life—to improve the health and well-being of people all over the world.

Dr. Wentz holds a bachelor's degree in biology from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, a master's degree in microbiology from the University of North Dakota, and a PhD in microbiology and immunology from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

"I find it tragic that the vast majority of people leave this earth too soon and spend too many of their years in pain and suffering. In a sense, we are living too short and dying too long. Chronic degenerative diseases are rampant throughout the world. Cancer accounts for one in every four deaths in the United States while heart disease is responsible for one in every three deaths. Only a small percentage of us will die of old age.

"I recognized many years ago that optimal cellular nutrition is key to maintaining long-term health. Since that time, I have made it my life’s mission to help people live healthier lives through scientific research, advanced nutritional products, cutting-edge medical facilities, and progressive humanitarian work. I believe, with the help of exceptional nutrition, people can live healthier and more rewarding lives."
